Robert (Bob) White

Chief Executive Officer

Bob White is responsible for implementing Pulmac’s strategic development goals and seeing to the overall performance of the company. He holds degrees in electrical engineering and business administration from McGill University.

Bob joined Pulmac in 2013 following a 42-year career in telecommunications industry where he led several development projects that contributed to the evolution of that industry from dial telephones to smart phones. From 1969 to 1993, he served in engineering, operational, international, regulatory and strategic development roles as a senior executive in two publicly traded telecommunications companies. In 1994, he began to serve the industry as an entrepreneur and participated in several projects and corporate ventures to help them realize their objectives and value potential. He retired from the telecommunications industry in 2011.

Bob’s mandate with Pulmac is to drive the company’s growth. He sees a bright future for the forest products and packaging industry especially as companies migrate from commodity products to specialized paper products that help customers improve their competitive advantage. He is leading Pulmac to play a leading role in this transformation through a focus on engineering fibers to leverage their variability, improve the performance of production systems and the quality and diversity of the products they produce.

Bob is currently the vice-chair of the Management Division of TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry) and a past chair of the Information Technology Committee. He is a strong believer in the capabilities of technology to address organizational and societal issues. Bob is counting on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to enable a fourth industrial revolution that will help solve these various issues, significantly improve productivity and be a foundation for a sustainable future.
