Mechanical Pulp
Providing the highest quality pulp, at the lowest cost, is the goal of all fiber lines.
Box Board needs pulp with the following characteristics:
- Target drainage
- Target fines content
- Target long fiber fraction
- Target brightness
- Minimum fiber bundles (shives)
- Minimum deposits
- Consistent chemistry
Providing these characteristics, at the lowest cost, is particularly challenging when making fiber from chips mechanically. Varying chip quality, TMP refiner plate conditions, and a complex Systems of screening, cleaning, and rejects refining all contribute to the pulp quality the fiberline presents to the machines.
